The inaugural Black Deer Festival at Eridge Park showcasing the best in established and up-and-coming American music was an absolute delight to attend and also to shoot. Covering 5 primary stages meant I was on the go all the time so it was a case of working hard to get the shots that captured the moments and made the memories as quickly as possible and then get to the next location in time to get in the pit. The glorious weather made it a delight but also added the challenge of lugging gear in 25+ degrees, not to mention the hugely variable lighting when switching between outdoor and indoor stages. Needless to say I loved every minute of it and got to enjoy some terrific music, some I knew already but a huge amount I didn’t and wow, some of the performances were truly sensational.
